The FIFA referee committee announced on the 9th the list of the 2023 Women’s Football World Cup referees. Chinese referee Xie Lijun was selected as an assistant referee.
The 2023 Women’s World Cup will be held in Australia and New Zealand from July 20th to August 20th.On the list released by FIFA on the day, there were 33 referees, 55 assistant referees and 19 video referees.
Xie Lijun, who was selected as an assistant referee, came from Sichuan. He has enforced many domestic and international competitions. In 2022, he participated in the U17 Women’s World Cup law enforcement.
According to FIFA, all the selected referees have performed in international and domestic competitions in recent years, and the level of each referee has been strictly inspected and screened.
At the 2022 Qatar Men’s Football World Cup, Chinese referee Ma Ning, Shi Xiang and Cao Yi were selected as the referee list. This is the first time that Chinese referees have participated in the Men’s World Cup law enforcement work in 20 years.Ma Ning served as the fourth official of the six groups of the competition, and Shi Xiang and Cao Yi were the alternate assistants of the three -game referees.
